In the ornamental fish business, transportation has an important role to distributing fish up into the costumers. The distance between the farm and the customers location, require a transportation method which can maintain the quality and quantity of ornamental fish during the transportation. The biggest challenge in live fish closed system transportation is to reduce the stress level of fish during the process. According to Harmon (2009), fish are often exposed to multiple stressor during the transportation. Stressed fish can be seen through the increasing of tachiventilation (rapid opercula movement) and blood glucose levels (Evans and Claiborne, 2006). One of the method to reduce stress of fish during transportation is using essential oils from Bandotan's (A. conyzoides) leaves. A. conyzoides essential oils know has an analgesic activity (Okunade, 2002; Shekhar and Anju, 2012; Singh et al., 2013). A chemical compound with known analgesic effect, used in human and veterinary medicine as local analgesic dan be used to fish for the purpose of sedation, immobilization, and analgesia as well as general anaesthesia (Zahl and Samuelsen, 2012). This research was conducted to see the effect of A.conyzoides essential oils toward the survival rate, blood glucose levels, and tachyventilation of koi carp juveniles during closed system transportation. This research using completely randomized design method which consist of 5 different treatments with 4 replications. Treatment that used in this research is the variation of administration doses of A. conyzoides essential oils during the koi carp juvenile closed system transportation. The treatment such as A (5 ppm), B (10 ppm), C (15 ppm), D (20 ppm), and E (0 ppm). Main parameter of this research is survival rate, blood glucose levels, and tachyventilation of koi carp juvenile during 8 hours transportation. The result shows that A. conyzoides essential oils give a significant result toward survival rate, blood glucose levels, and tachiventilation of koi carp juvenile during transportation. There is no mortality in treatment A, B, and E, during transportation. The lowest blood glucose levels and tachiventilation found in treatment A (5 ppm)

Background: Moringa oleifera is highly valued with a wide range of medicinal uses. It is abundantly available in tropical and sub-tropical countries. It has been used as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory in Indian folk medicine since centuries. The mechanism of action of analgesic effect is by the phytochemical components of its leaves which contain alkaloids, glycosides, phenols, saponins and tannin. Methods: This experiment is carried out in mice by using the thermal method of analgesiometer, that is Eddy’s Hot Plate method. Thermostatically controlled electrically heated plate is used in this method. Ethanolic and aqueous extracts of Moringa oleifera leaf extracts are compared with aspirin. Results: When the analgesic properties of the standard drug aspirin were compared to the analgesic properties of ethanolic and aqueous extracts of Moringa oleifera, the ethanolic extract showed a comparable analgesic effect with aspirin at 90min. Among these two extracts, the ethanolic extract showed a higher response than aqueous extract. Conclusions: When the analgesic properties of the standard drug aspirin were compared to the analgesic properties of ethanolic and aqueous extracts of Moringa oleifera, the ethanolic extract showed a comparable analgesic effect with aspirin at 90min. Among these two extracts, the ethanolic extract showed a higher response than aqueous extract

metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) Schottky diodes and compared with (Au/n-GaN)metal-semiconductor (MS) Schottky diode. The effect of SiO2 on the surface preparation of n-GaN (MIS) Schottky diode is analyzed. The extracted Schottky barrier height and ideality factor of the MS Schottky diode is found to be 0.79 eV and 1.45 respectively. It is observed that the Schottky barrier height increases to 0.86 eV and ideality factor decreases to 1.3 for MIS diode. The interface state density as determined by Terman’s method is found to be 3.79 × 1012 and 3.41 × 1010 cm - 2 eV - 1 for the MS and MIS Schottky diodes, respectively. In addition, the values of series resistance (Rs) are determined using Cheung’s method. The I - V characteristics confirmed that the distribution of Nss, Rs and interfacial layer are important parameters that influence the electrical characteristics of MIS Schottky diodes. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of probiotics Lactobacillus plantarum 2C12 and Lactobacillus acidophilus 2B4 to prevent diarrhea caused by enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC). Albino rats (Rattus norvegicus) were daily orally administered by 108 cfu/ml of both probiotics without or simultaneously infected with EPEC (106 cfu/ml) for 7 days. Negative control was not infected by probiotic and EPEC while positive control was challenged with EPEC alone. After 1, 2 and 3 weeks, total of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and E. coli of mucosa of cecum and cecum content were evaluated.  It was observed that rats administered by L. plantarum 2C12 and L. acidophilus 2B4 and challenged with EPEC had better performances when compared with the positive control for daily weight gain, feed consumption, feed efficiency rate. Diarrhea was determined by total of E. coli on cecum and watery fecal. Both probiotics could increase 1 log10 cfu/cm2 of total LAB on mucosa of cecum and also 1 log10 cfu/g of cecum content. Both probiotics also could reduce 1-3 log10 cfu/cm2 population of E.coli on mucosa of cecum and 1 log10 cfu/g of cecum content. L. plantarum 2C12 and L. acidophilus 2B4 were effective as probiotics against EPEC on rats

Lovastatin is a bioactive material of statin groups and has been used to reduce cholesterol through inhibiting HMG Co-A reductase enzyme activities. Three indigenous strains of Monascus purpureus and three mutans were used in this study produced lovastatin at the range of 0,1 - 1,42%. The objectives of this study were to increase lovastatin productions by co-cultured with several concentrations of Endomycopsis burtonii. M. purpureus (10 cfu/ml) was co-cultured with various concentrations of E. burtonii (10M0 ) cfu/ral at three different feeding times (day 2, 4, and 6). Feeding times and concentrations of E. burtonii significantly increased production of lovastatin by four strains of M. purpureus (JMBA5K, AID, JMBA and TOS). The highest production of lovastatin was achieved by M. purpureus TOS co-cultured by E. burtonii at 10 cfu/ml added at day 6. Expression of the genes that responsible for lovastatin production were analyzed by PCR and RT-PCR method. The phenotypic character of M. purpureus TOS with high lovastatin production was conformed by the high intensity of its gene expression
